Bugs Be Gone is a chemical free natural insect/flea/tick repellant for YOU and YOUR DOG.
NOT FOR USE ON CATS-(see Lavender/Lemongrass co-distillation for cats). I don't think any of us enjoy putting toxic, cancer-causing chemicals on our pets each month, yet we need to protect them from fleas and ticks.
The base for this mist is my Lavender/Lemongrass co-distillation hydrosol. Both herbs have great insect repelling properties. I have added certified organic essential oils of Cedarwood Atlas, Lavender, Geranium, Catnip, Lemongrass ct rhodinol and Peppermint. Certified organic Aloe vera jelly is added to help disperse the oils in the hydrosol. This is a powerhouse of flea, tick, and mosquito repelling oils! Catnip essential oil contains the chemical constituent, Nepetalactone. "A study by Iowa State University Department of Entomology concluded the nepetalactone in catnip essential oilis 10 X mor effective at repelling mosquitoes than toxic chemiclas such as Deet." (Lotus Garden Botanicals).
Simply shake vigorously and mist your dog's neck, chest, ears, paws, tail, and belly. You should spray on your hands and then apply to top of your dog's head and neck so you do not get it in his or her eyes, as well as the back of the legs and inside of legs keeping away from genital area.
For people simply shake and mist your clothing and top of head or you may mist on your body-avoid your face.
Because we are all unique individuals and so are our pets, please perform a skin patch test first. Mist the inside of your elbow, and monitor for at least 20 minutes.
For your pet, mist the belly and monitor for at least 20 minutes. If any irritation occurs, wash area with soap and water.
Important: It is imperative that you are vigilant with misting your dog before you walk him or her. You do not have to reapply every time you let your dog out in your yard but be sure to create a barrier on your dog's coat to repel ticks and fleas. PLease know that I use this on both of my pups for fleas and ticks. They are also fed a biologically appropriate diet which I believe is necessary in order to develop a strong immune system. Holistic vets agree that fleas and ticks are less likely to attack a healthy dog. I mist George & Theo in the morning before we walk and then maybe again at night before we walk.
